My choices can’t be made on how I feel on any given day, but how I want to be a part of an old, long story of faithful light bearers.

Whether we are the Rahab, the first-generation believer making decisions that will be felt many generations later, or we are the beneficiary of others living out their faith for us as an example, this is war and we have to live like it. The apostle Paul describes our struggles with Satan in militaristic terms: “Fight the good fight of the faith” (1 Tim. 6:12). God is rescuing people from “the dominion of darkness” and placing them in His kingdom (Col. 1:13). What we do, how we live, and whether we hide our lights have implications greater than the day we are living in. The way we face our enemy, step up and out, take risks, address shame, speak up, and wage in this war impacts generations.
